D&D Saturday: Dark Sun for 5e

D&D LogoWizards of the Coast has been slow in producing content for 5e, and other than the Forgotten Realms the pre-existing campaign settings for it have been barely supported, if at all.  This includes the apocalyptic setting of Dark Sun.  However, a fan of the setting named Kiel Chenier did us all a favor by…

creating a sweet home-brew PDF for playing Dark Sun in 5e

Dark Sun Fifth Edition Rules

We haven’t gotten a chance to play it yet, but here are a few thoughts:

  1. The Mul’s hit dice bonus may be too much of a good thing, compared to other races
  2. We at Icygeek have also thought that one could do psionics by just reflavouring the sorcerer, and that was done here as well.  We probably would have just made a whole new sorcerous origin, but their take should work as well.
  3. They definitely want to make sure you don’t play a cleric or paladin.
  4. What the heck is FLAILSNAILS???

This is a welcome addition to the internet D&D community.  Thanks Kiel.

Quoth the penguin…evermore.
