Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4 Premiere Review w/Potshots

Skye DaisyGetting back to doing reviews, and what better way to start than with the season premiere of  the only Marvel TV show in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  We saw a lot of weirdness in the preview of the fourth season at the end of the third season’s season finale, so let’s see what this season will give us.

A woman dressing is never a bad way to start a show.  Undressing is better, but…

What did those trophies ever do to you?

Now that’s a cool ride.

She’s quaking at her boots (sorry/not sorry)

Nice to see Agent May kicking ass as usual.

He’s right about the soul, you know.

I missed that lovely British voice.

Artificial woman?  Quite useful, especially if, considering Fitz’s reaction, anatomically correct.

Still don’t get why Daisy is so undercover

I guess Green clearance is higher than Blue and Yellow combined then?

Bloody hell…

That’s not much space to drive.

Simmons ordering May???

The perfect woman…what man has been trying to find for many millennia.

Just as it gets good…

Now that’s creepy.

Hellooooo Ghost Rider.

I guess that’s a good sign about your soul Daisy.

That’s one way to finish high school.

How did I not hear about that trailer yet?  It was quite…Strange.

I saw that too May.

Well, that was different.

Well, if we want some answers that we had since the month of May (as opposed to the agent)…well, we didn’t get much.  Daisy/Quake is running around outside S.H.I.E.L.D.’s auspices for no stated reason.  Coulson is no longer the director for some reason (at least, none from the series so far, just internet stories).  We do suddenly have Ghost Rider, so it’s nice to see some actual Marvel superheroes, but it still feels odd for the Spirit of Vengeance to show up here and not in the upcoming Doctor Strange movie.

Too bad the special effects budget probably wasn’t enough for a truly epic Quake/Ghost Rider battle.  That would have made the episode very good.  As it is, it was there.  Three snowflakes out of five.

We’ll try to review the season premieres of Supergirl, Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow when they debut.  Until then…

Quoth the penguin…evermore.
