Well, it is the end of an era. This is the very last episode of Visionaries to review. I think after watching the previous 12 we have a good idea why the TV series failed, as did the toy. Thankfully, we go out on a high note as this was one of the few episodes I really remembered from back in the day. Here is Dawn of the Sun Imps, where both sides in the Visionaries war must fast their greatest challenge yet, and ever as well unless they are ever brought back (and if they are, hopefully better done than the Jem movie).
As promised, since we ran behind in our promised weekly series of Potshots, we are now looking at the twelfth episode of Visionaries, entitled Sorcery Squared. This episode was between the two episodes I remembered the most from the series, so it’s kind of interesting to see how it went. Let’s see
As promised, since we ran behind in our promised weekly series of Potshots, we are now looking at the eleventh episode of Visionaries, entitled Honor Among Thieves. This was perhaps the best remembered episode for us at Icygeek (with the pilot and 13th episode being the other notable ones), and it is little wonder, as it marks what could have saved Visionaries if had been more like this episode. The rivalry between Ectar and Reekon really could have gone somewhere.
Welcome back to our series of potshots focusing on that Hasbro toyline cartoon of 1987…Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light. We only have four more episode left to review. Do our heroes, the Spectral Knights, finally act intelligently? We shall we see as we review the tenth episode of the series: The Trail of Three Wizards.
Welcome back to 80’s Cartoon Potshots. We are now at episode nine out of thirteen of Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light with Horn of Unicorn, Claw of Dragon. Let’s see if our “heroes”, the Spectral Knights, can finally avoid being mentally challenged. After the previous eight episodes, I can not be too hopeful.
Welcome back to 80’s Cartoon Potshots. Today we reach the halfway point in our look at the episodes of Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light, with episode 7: The Overthrow of Merklynn. We already have an idea why the cartoon series/toy tanked, so let’s see if this episode confirms the hypothesis. We already kinda know what it is about just from the title.
Welcome back to 80’s Cartoon Potshots, where we look back and review 80’s cartoon. Today we are continuing our series on the Visionaries, with episode six: Lion Hunt. Sounds like Leoric might be in trouble. Continue reading
Welcome back to 80s Cartoon Potshots. Continuing with our synergy with D&D Saturday, we are looking and reviewing the fifth episode of Visionaries, entitled Feryl Steps Out. This has some D&D feel in the beginning, and some outright stupid by almost everyone in this episode.
Welcome back to 80s Cartoon Potshots. Today we look at the second episode of Visionaries, entitled The Dark Hand of Treachery. In many ways the first three episodes of the series was a origin trilogy similar to the one that Transformers G1 had, except that Transformers went on to have many episodes, bot in G1 and in subsequent renewals of the franchise. Sadly, thirteen is all Visionaries had. So we continue on with reviewing the series, Potshots style, with one a week until we finish the series, and always on Sunday to better go along with D&D Saturday. Continue reading
